HOJE É O DIA DE VESAK

VESAK CELEBRATION 2014

10 – 13 May 2014
Aljunied MRT Open Ground

Celebrate Vesak with Amitabha Buddhist Centre
25 Years of Giving Dharma to Others

On the occasion of the Buddha’s enlightenment and parinirvana, Amitabha Buddhist Centre presents for the first time,

Our Amitabha Buddha Pure Land Thangka
All are welcome to view, venerate, and create vast merit

Towering at 50 feet high and 30 feet wide, our magnificent new thangka portrays Amitabha Buddha in His Pure Land accompanied by the eight great bodhisattvas. Sewn entirely by hand by Tibetan artists in south India, it took over one year of painstaking labour to complete the detailed applique work.

This one-of-a-kind masterpiece resulted from following the holy wishes and advice of our Spiritual Director, Lama Zopa Rinpoche. It is Rinpoche’s wish, that this enormous display of Amitabha in His Pure Land will greatly benefit all who see it.

View and Rejoice

One accumulates vast merits and collects positive imprints by merely seeing the image of Amitabha. Bring family and friends along to view this inspiring vision.

Venerate with Offerings

While remembering the immeasurable qualities of the Buddha’s deeds and teachings, take the opportunity to pay homage to Amitabha:

  • Make offerings of lotus lights, oil lamps, flowers and incense (available at our Vesak stalls)
  • Join in our procession of light offerings and circumambulations every night
